... but I shouldn’t sleep now, because that’s how you end up with major jetlagging.

Idk, I had two 10 hour flights 2 weeks apart and never experienced any jet lag. Maybe I slept enough on the flights? Idk. Felt fine and my body clock was fine on both ends.

Ah, jetlag is a PITA.
Try drinking some ice cold water, or go for a short walk. That usually helps me when I’m jetlagged out of my mind.

I have found that my favorite way to deal with jet lag is to skip sleep for an entire night and then just go to bed whenever because you are tired enough to basically reset your shit. Sure it ruins the immediate day but you are fine after getting some sleep. Rather than being f’d up like a week later if you tried to “ease back into it”. This is especially dependent on how many hours you are lagging of course. I only do this when its like a Europe to CA flight where I am going back 7 or 8 hours.

I’ve read that melatonin is useful for resetting your clock and preventing jet lag.

If only the guy next to me didn’t kept putting his elbow into my seat and the kid behind me didn’t repeatedly play with the table.

Sleep going east, stay awake going west. When we went to DK, we were in the air all night and landed in the morning. That first day was hell.

From my experience, it’s actually the meals that helps reset. I generally avoid the meals on a plane because if you convert the time to your destination time they are like at the worst hours.
This time it didn’t sync up too well, considering I took a red-eye. Last time I did this I fell sick right that afternoon, but that was also because I was rushing back into the office .

I actually didn’t jetlagged at all the two weeks I was in HK.
It’s just today though I think, I need to stay awake to reset and my red-eye didn’t help much.

I can’t sleep on flights much at all unless I am really tired. And even then, the sleep I do get is never particularly good sleep. Cross country or overseas overnight flights I can usually score about 4 hours of shitty sleep at best. I prefer just flying during times I’d be awake and binge watching some stuff. Then just stay awake until normal sleeping time no matter how long that is.

Huh, I slept a ton on my flight to the UK and about half the flight on the way back. Felt rested at least so wasn’t too bad a sleep.

Are you American? Cause then you could just shoot them. If you are not ask them to stop acting like children and to leave you alone?

I require earplugs, noise canceling headphones on top of that, a blindfold/hat to cover my eyes, and a blanket just to get the mediocre sleep. The same as I can’t sleep through snoring, TVs in the background, or lights on at home in an actual bed. So it depends more on being an easy sleeper I suppose. Surprisingly I tend to do fine while camping but relative quiet and darkness isnt too hard to achieve there.

Oooof that sucks. I can sleep most places and through a train crashing into my house.

Haha yeah my girlfriend is the same way. Pretty sure she could easily sleep through a fireworks show going on in the same room. Or mid- sentence. Or on a bed of nails. I generally find no problems sleeping for 8+ hours soundly under decent conditions so at least I dont have an actual problem or end up tired ever really.
